Rencontre avec Zoé Picciotto : Graphiste et Illustratrice

Meeting with Zoé Picciotto: Graphic Designer and Illustrator

Posted by JOD Paris on

Can you introduce yourself ?

My name is Zoé Picciotto and I am 30 years old. Parisian by birth, I went to Geneva for university (HEAD Geneva). I have been a freelance graphic designer & illustrator for 4 years. I am passionate about what I do and work with various brands and groups. I love exploring everyone's own universe and succeeding in proposing a project that they like and that fits best with their vision. I have to adapt to each client, which has taught me to be flexible and patient.

What 3 adjectives could define you?

I am sunny, cheerful and chill.

What is your greatest pride?

My work and my friendships. I could travel the world for the people I love.

What is the most important value that you would like to pass on to your children or that you spread to those around you?

Respect, kindness, perseverance and work.

What makes you feel good?

My friends, my family, drawing, traveling and surfing.

What moments do you like to share with family or friends?

Summer vacation and partying for any occasion.

What would you like to achieve that is more ecological?

Using less paper, I draw everything by hand and I keep everything, even my drafts.

How do you see yourself in 15 years?

Happy and surrounded by people I love, even more projects and still being passionate about my work.

What advice would you give to the person you were 10 years ago?

Believe in your dreams.

What is a typical day in your life?

I get up at 8 a.m., I shower and get dressed fairly quickly, then I rush to the office on foot (40 min walk). I make a list of things to do or return depending on the projects, I quickly check my emails. I spend my day on the computer using Illustrator and Indesign or drawing. A few calls, a lot of WhatsApp, I have lunch in 10 minutes in front of the computer. I continue in the afternoon and return around 6 p.m. Then, boxing classes and dinner with friends or family and then bed.

What makes you beautiful?

Tanning in summer, and my Dyson!

What is your essential beauty routine?

Moisturizer, Charlotte Tilbury glitter highlighter and my vanilla perfume :)

What do you have in your purse?

I always have a pen, my notebook, my keys, headphones, business cards + stickers, band-aids, lip balm and finally my phone.

What made you want to start a business?

I swore I would never be self-employed, I was unhappy and less fulfilled in my previous job. I resigned, and my family encouraged me to go freelance. I didn't think I could sell my drawings. In my family, almost everyone is an entrepreneur, so that may have influenced my decision. I had to learn a lot on the job, but I always asked for help, from everyone, including my clients. Because sharing is caring :)!

What is your guilty pleasure?

All breakfast cereals.

What are your plans ?

Develop my freelance status, get more and more projects, refine my style, work more on packaging and visual identity. Expand my skills in the field of animation/video because it is truly a profession in its own right. But this is the new challenge for 2024!

What makes you strong?

My parents, my friends and certain magical encounters.

What would you like to change on earth for your children?

Coral preservation.

What is your definition of beauty?

Feel good in your head and in your body and not worry too much.

What does being natural mean to you?

Be yourself.

Your biggest regret ?

I don't really have any, I often do whatever I want. Enjoy your family and the people you love even more. Life is too short.

Your wildest dream?

Go on a 6-month road trip to Australia and Mexico to surf and take a break from Parisian life."
