Portrait of Merryl De Catuelan: Naturopath and Facialist

Posted by JOD Paris on

Can you introduce yourself ?

My name is Merryl de Catuelan, I am a Naturopath and I am
also specialized in facial massages.

What 3 adjectives could define you?

Passionate, Reliable and caring.

What is your greatest pride?

My children far ahead and my reconversion
professional.

What is the most important value that you would like to pass on to your children or that you spread to those around you?

Kindness.
My key phrase: do not do to others what you would not like to be done to yourself.

What makes you feel good?

An evening of laughter with good friends.

What moments do you like to share with family or friends?

Simple moments where no one has too many expectations.

What would you like to achieve that is more ecological?

Buy less and therefore throw away less.

How do you see yourself in 15 years?

I find it difficult to answer this question because my big goal for the past few years has been to try to enjoy the present moment.

What advice would you give to the person you were 20 years ago?

Be gentler with myself and talk to myself as if I were my best friend.

What is a typical day in your life?

I moved my alarm forward in the morning to have some time just for myself where I stretch. My passion is to have a glass of water with
Quinton plasma (sea water) with lemon. I rush into the shower and then have a big savory breakfast for the whole family. I come home late at night so morning is really our family time.
After dropping the children off at school, I go to my office to see my patients. I work a lot but I make myself enjoy something a day: playing sports, seeing friends, an exhibition, picking up my children at the school, or to get a massage… it depends on the day.

What makes you beautiful?

Be rested and relaxed.

What is your essential beauty routine?

Clean my skin.

What do you have in your purse?

I always have large bags that are too full and too heavy...

What made you want to start a business ?

Find the idea! I had a flash at 32 years old, while I was working in communications for a watch brand, my husband went to see a Naturopath and he came home saying to me: "you should do that, I was given exactly what that you tell me every day to take...
For the first time in my life I really wanted to do this job and therefore to
get back to school.

What is your guilty pleasure?

Honestly the little cheese burger from McDonald's….. Yes I
I know honestly for a Naturopath there is nothing worse… but it’s only once a year.

What are your plans ?

Continue to train myself again and again... training on
health, on massage, I would like to train in auriculotherapy, acupuncture…

What makes you strong?

Being a mom.

What would you like to change on earth for your children?

Wow, a lot of things...
I would like the climate to be more cheerful, the news on television less dark, the people to be kinder, an education where children are given more self-confidence.

What is your definition of beauty?

I find it difficult to give a definition because beauty is
very emotional and subjective... Someone or something beautiful will not necessarily be beautiful to another person.

What does being natural mean to you?

Being natural means accepting yourself as you are.
Afterwards, you shouldn't let yourself go either!

Your biggest regret ?

That my father did not know my children.

Your wildest dream?

Take a family trip around the world.
