A few years ago, beauty brands offering cosmetic products with natural compositions could be counted on the fingers of one hand.
Today, no more unwanted ingredients! Ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate, benzophenone, Butylphenyl methylpropional, Sodium lauryl sulfate, ammonium lauryl sulfate… intended for the preservation of products, to give them a soft texture or an exceptional emulsion appear less and less in the composition of our treatments, to the greatest happiness of our skin and the environment.
At JOD we have chosen to develop treatments with compositions of 100% natural origin, without water, without preservatives, enriched with active ingredients from bio-cellular culture of plants.
Using the best that nature can offer us is a constant in the creation of our products.
Clean Beauty, more than a trend, a way of life and thinking.
Although there is no exact definition of what Clean Beauty is, we can say that it is above all a desire to consume better, to choose products that are healthier for the body and the skin. skin. Clean Beauty is a way of seeing life, of becoming aware of our influence on the environment through what we accept to see appear in the products we use and the way in which they are developed.
Clean beauty according to JOD means offering effective and sensory formulas, without having made any concession on the naturalness of the ingredients, favoring oils from a local and artisanal producer, choosing recyclable packaging, developing and producing its treatments in France .
Why choose natural cosmetics?
Natural cosmetics have long been considered less effective than conventional cosmetics.
The effectiveness and benefits of natural cosmetics for health and the environment are now proven.
The base of a traditional cosmetic, such as a cream, is mainly made up of water and oil to which active ingredients are added, and additional ingredients such as preservatives, PH regulators or surfactants. They make it possible to offer better sensoriality and durability to products.
However, some of these ingredients are controversial and may harm your skin or even your health.
Instead of using water and mineral oil from petrochemicals, natural cosmetics favor hydrosols and vegetable oils as well as ingredients of plant and mineral origin. Preservatives - when used - are selected from so-called “nature-identical” preservatives. These are preservatives that already exist in nature, but which can be difficult to extract in sufficient quantities, such as dehydroacetic acid, benzoic acid, benzyl alcohol or sorbic acid. Finally, natural cosmetics are often formulated with ingredients from local production and sustainable partnerships.
The Camelina, Evening Primrose and Borage oils that you find in JOD treatments, for example, come from artisanal production, sourced in the center of France. Cold pressed on site, these oils do not undergo any refining, treatment or addition of preservatives and thus deliver all the benefits of essential fatty acids (EFA).
The power of plants at the service of our skin.
Regenerating, protective, adaptive properties... plants, trees, flowers of the terrestrial and marine world are endowed with remarkable properties.
For centuries, medicine has recognized, adopted and used the power of plants to heal.
By taking the best that nature offers us, we develop highly effective care products combined with great tolerance.
