Le pouvoir des plantes au coeur de nos formules

The power of plants at the heart of our formulas

Posted by JOD Paris on

Nature conceals extraordinary powers and plants have long been used in cosmetics for their beneficial properties on the skin.

The active compounds in plant extracts can help protect, hydrate, nourish or soothe the skin.

Here are some of the plants with recognized virtues for the skin that we have chosen to enrich the formulas of our JOD treatments:

THE CENTIFOLIA ROSE:

The centifolia rose, also known as the hundred-leaf rose or May rose, is a variety of rose very popular in cosmetics for its moisturizing, regenerating and anti-aging properties.

Centifolia rose contains components that help retain water in the skin making it soft, supple and hydrated.

It also has anti-inflammatory properties and helps soothe and calm skin irritations. It is therefore often recommended for sensitive skin or skin prone to redness.

Very rich in antioxidants, centifolia rose helps protect the skin from free radicals responsible for skin aging and can reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Finally, rose is a natural tonic for the skin, helping to tighten pores and make it firmer.

THE CAMELINE:

Camelina is a plant whose oil extracted from the seeds is used in cosmetics for its many beneficial properties for the skin and hair. Rich in essential fatty acids, particularly alpha-linolenic acid, it has moisturizing properties for the skin. It can help maintain skin hydration and prevent dry skin.

Camelina oil also has soothing properties, making it an ideal ingredient for care products for sensitive and irritated skin.

The antioxidants in Camelina help protect the skin from damage caused by free radicals.

Finally, Camelina oil is nourishing because it is rich in Vitamin E and fatty acids.

THE IRIS:

This plant has moisturizing, anti-inflammatory, anti-aging, regenerative, anti-dark spots and soothing properties. Rich in polysaccharides, it helps retain water in the skin and maintain optimal hydration.

At the heart of our products, the use of Iris pale active ingredient will act on the effects of natural aging on the connective tissue of the dermis and the upper layer of the epidermis. It will stimulate the synthesis of constituents of the extra-cellular matrix of the dermis (such as collagen) and promote the regeneration of the epidermis for denser skin and complete anti-aging action.

JAPANESE KNOWLEDGE:

Japanese knotweed, also known as Reynoutria japonica, is an invasive herbaceous plant native to East Asia. It is used in cosmetics for its moisturizing, anti-inflammatory and soothing but also anti-aging and regenerating properties.

BORAGE:

The borage oil present in our treatments is very rich in Omega 6 GLA. It has excellent skin regeneration properties. It fights against skin aging. Cold pressed, it is used in cosmetics to firm the skin, strengthen the epidermis and fight against dehydration. This oil is also used for its therapeutic benefits: healing, soothing, softening.

THE ONAGRE:

Evening primrose oil is extracted from the seeds of the Evening primrose plant, also called evening primrose. It is rich in gamma-linolenic acid (GLA), an essential fatty acid that plays an important role in the health of skin, hair and nails. This fatty acid, not synthesized by the body, is essential to the integrity of the cell wall: it contributes to the suppleness and beauty of the skin. As a result, evening primrose oil has an anti-aging effect, restoring elasticity to the epidermis. It also has moisturizing, regenerating, firming and healing properties.
