Can you introduce yourself?
My name is Joy, I am a holistic therapist, which means that I mix a range of varied tools: astrology, tarot, therapeutic flowers and the PSYCH-K method to eliminate limiting beliefs, in order to push my clients towards a happier and more powerful version of themselves!
What are the 3 adjectives that could define you?
Passionate, curious, spontaneous (I had to ask friends for help because it's so hard to describe yourself).
What are you most proud of?
My social fabric. The family I created with my husband and my two wonderful daughters, but also my circle of friends who are another less conventional but equally nourishing and wonderful family.
What is the most important value that you would like to pass on to your children or that you radiate around you?
I have two daughters and I am committed to ensuring that they are able to have good self-esteem and that they are able to love themselves and recognize their value, regardless of the criteria imposed by our society or the desires and needs of others towards them.
I receive a lot of women who do not see their qualities, their beauty and their power and who rely on others to be validated or find their legitimacy. I try to make sure that each one can connect to what is most beautiful in them to make it shine as much as possible.
What makes you feel good?
Human. I love to discuss, debate, exchange, share. I have lots of thematic Whatsapp groups to talk about politics, food, travel… with my close friends. But I also like to meet people daily in my work, discover new stories, other ways of living and thinking. I am eager for exchanges to the point that I exhaust myself a little and afterwards what does me good is to be alone with myself in my office which closes with a small latch.
What are the moments you like to share with family or friends?
Meals. Being at the table combines my two passions: eating and talking.
What would you like to achieve that is more environmentally friendly?
Buy less clothes. I am very versatile when it comes to fashion and I always want something new. Often, I crack and my closet is very very full. I always make sure to circulate the things I no longer want, nothing is thrown away, but it is still too much.
How do you see yourself in 15 years?
Quiet. I was born in Paris and very attached to life in the capital, but the call of the great outdoors is becoming more and more pressing, so in 15 years, I can see myself sharing my time between Paris and the seaside.
What advice would you give to the person you were 20 years ago?
I think I would tell her that she is fine as she is and that her differences make her unique and rich.
What is a typical day in your life?
Waking up with a child's cry that doesn't want to eat the toast my husband made. Hearty breakfast and a bit of sport if I can motivate myself. Then, I chain together appointments with my clients in person or by video. Lunch in front of my computer or with a friend if I have more time. Mini walk in my neighborhood that I love so much (the Marais!). In the afternoon, I either have other appointments, or I write my column for Harper's Bazaar or I work on a collab or I learn something new to enrich my practice. Then, dinner with the children (early!), bath, and diving into a cozy mystery (those slightly silly investigation books) to rest my brain before sleeping.
What makes you beautiful?
Being aligned. When I do what I love, at my own pace, without compromising myself, that's when I shine.
What is your essential beauty routine?
Hydration. I'm pretty basic when it comes to cosmetic routines but I never forget to moisturize (or my skin reminds me).
What do you have in your handbag?
Wallet, keys when I don't forget them, phone and a colored lip balm.
What made you want to start a business?
My partner Bethsabée from My Body Plan. We created a line of therapeutic flower essences, My Flower Plan, to accompany and support projects, especially weight loss because she is a nutrition coach. I think I would not have wanted to undertake it alone but Bethsabée's motivation and the desire to support more people than time allows me individually is a drive.
What is your guilty pleasure?
Plus Belle La Vie. I know, this series sucks but my father watched it from time to time to turn off his hyperactive brain I guess. When I watch it, I feel like I'm loyal to it and I'm very attached to the characters now.
What are your plans?
Develop My Flower Plan, learn new techniques (numerology!) and pursue virtuous collaborations that allow us to reach more people and create a positive impact.
What makes you strong?
The love I receive daily from my family, my friends, but also my clients who give me so much.
What would you like to change on earth for your children?
Let there be more love and less hate. It's very corny but it's essential. I would like people to no longer define themselves by their differences but by what connects them.
What is your definition of beauty?
I find that beauty is everywhere and I love finding it in others, in nature, in art. It's the way we look at things and the desire to connect with them that changes everything.
What does being natural mean to you?
To accept one's singularity, even to claim it, spontaneously and without aggression. Naturalness is the easiest path when one is aligned.
Your biggest regret?
I have no regrets. I find that life is a path and there is nothing to regret. It is better to learn from your experiences to move forward, anchor yourself in the present and look serenely towards the future.
Your wildest dream?
Have a big positive impact on the world
