Can you introduce yourself?
Hello, my name is Erica Sand. I am a voice actress and creative writer originally from North America, and I have been living in Paris since 2012.

What are the 3 adjectives that could define you?

Honest. Ambitious. Empathetic.

What are you most proud of?

My two sons, Luca and Leo. And for becoming the person my mother inspired me to become.

What is the most important value that you would like to pass on to your children or that you radiate around you?

Love. The more love you give, the more you receive. Love your family, friends, and even strangers. Say "I love you" as often as possible.

What makes you feel good?

Do a good job. The magic you seek is often found in the work you haven't done yet.

What are the moments you like to share with family or friends?

All the times when there is good food, good music and beautiful people.

What would you like to accomplish that is more environmentally friendly?

I wish all buildings in Paris had a recycling system. It's surprising that many Parisians still don't recycle.

What advice would you give to the person you were 20 years ago?

The universe doesn't always give you what you want, but it always gives you what you need. And you're stronger than you think.

What does a typical day in your life look like?

I start by writing in my journal, with a candle and crystals, drinking coffee before my children wake up. Then I have breakfast with them and take them to school. Then I go back to work: I do copywriting for clients, I record voiceovers in my home studio or in studios in Paris. I also dedicate time to my book, a memoir about how I turned hardships into joy.

What makes you beautiful?

My thoughts. We become what we think ;)

What is your essential beauty routine?

SPF 50 sunscreen and a good facial moisturizer. Tip: never forget to put some on your neck!

What's in your handbag?

A Westman Atelier concealer, a mini Dior mascara, a Fenty Beauty lip gloss, a JOD Cosmetics cleansing stick, Water Wipes for kids, and disinfectant gel – because, Paris ;)

What made you want to start a business?

The need for freedom. After ten years in corporate offices, I decided to become independent. I will never again ask permission to go to the dentist or take a vacation. Although, when you are self-employed, you never really take a vacation, do you?

What is your guilty pleasure?

90-minute massages...and 90-minute skin care on Sundays!

What are your plans?

I work with a book incubator in Los Angeles. I'm writing a memoir about how losing my mother to brain cancer and my own battle with cancer changed me.

What makes you strong?

My two little boys, who call me "mommy". I have always dreamed of being a mother, and they are my strength. They bring light in dark times.

What would you like to change in the world for your children?

I wish hate would be erased. If everyone could live their lives without judging others, it would be so much easier. "Live and let live" should be a universal rule.

What is your definition of beauty?

"For beautiful eyes, look for kindness in others; for beautiful lips, speak kind words; and for grace, walk knowing you are never alone." – Audrey Hepburn

What does 'being natural' mean to you?

Be yourself, without worrying about what others think. As soon as you free yourself from these judgments, you rise.

Your biggest regret?

My mother passed away two years ago from a rare and aggressive brain cancer, when my sons were 4 years and 18 months old. My greatest regret is that they will grow up without knowing her love and generosity. She was an extraordinary mother and friend.

Your wildest dream?

My mother’s dream became mine. She wanted to buy a villa in Italy and turn it into a bed and breakfast with a sumptuous breakfast buffet. She loved to chat with strangers and dreamed of meeting travelers over coffee. One day, I will buy a villa in her honor. I will continue to write and record voiceovers, but I will serve her recipes and share her story with guests.
